Hyrax Biosciences is excited to announce that we have included analysis support for sequence data generating using Oxford Nanopore Technologies. This update means that the Exatype platform, Hyrax Biosciences' genotyping software solution, now includes analysis support for all major sequencing platforms: Illumina, Ion Torrent and Oxford Nanopore.

Long-read sequencing using devices from Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) have increasingly been used for genotyping SARS-CoV-2. The ONT workflows are less complex and relatively inexpensive compared to traditional short read options.

For each sample, the Exatype platform reports variants (at user-selected prevalence levels), the Pangolin lineage and Nextstrain clade, as well as the consensus sequence (for GISAID submissions). Importantly, Exatype takes care of the time-consuming tasks of quality assurance, reference mapping, variant calling, and ensuring that external software and databases are up to date. This means that your bioinformatics focus can be on downstream data processing, aggregation, and cutting-edge research instead!

Running data is easy and intuitive, see for yourself!
